This month in the VIA Art Gallery we are curating the work of two incredible artists, Matt Knisely and Emmy Star Brown.
Matt Knisely is a multi Emmy® award-winning photojournalist and storyteller based in Dallas, Texas. He is best known for his professional standards and his vivid editing and use of depth of field in his photography. And he's the author of forthcoming book Framing Faith, which captures a God of decisive moments amidst a busy and hurried world.
Emmy Star Brown is a Chicago-based artist, best recognized for her expressive paintings on salvaged glass windows. Her painted glassware, tattoo art, and vinyl laptop decals reflect her same stylistic approach, as all designs are created freehand. Her combination of vintage frames with contemporary design make for a unique contrast, creating eco-friendly artwork adaptable to any environment. All designs reflect the artist’s love for type, pattern, movement and modern design.
Brown also recently signed with Sharpie. She has been used in their 2012 advertising campaign, which features her work in their commercials, advertising and online marketing. See her in this Sharpie TV Spot or read more at her Sharpie blog.
