I’m a son. You are too.
Regardless of your natural gender, you are as a son in The Spirit. We look to Jesus as our example and role model, since He is, after all, the ultimate Father-pleaser, and the ultimate Son.
Amazing, isn’t it?
Our Father is God, and He has saved us, adopted us, pulled us out of The World and into His Kingdom, and empowered us to remain here in The World, until such time as He permanently calls us Home. He wanted this all along, and He always gets what He wants.
Exciting, isn’t it?
No longer spiritual bastards, we have been given an eternal identity.
No longer spiritual orphans, we have been given a permanent home.
His has always been a generational story, and He passes that onto us as His sons.
Salvation has come to us through Christ, presented in The New Covenant of adoptive sonship. We now have access to all the wonders, power, Spirit, and blessings of God as Father. Indeed, there is nothing He withholds from us; there is nothing He doesn’t wish to bless us with.
Peaceful, isn’t it?
As sons of The King, we receive a son’s inheritance. Such an inheritance it is!
As sons of The King, we can boldly approach Him with confidence, knowing that He will incline His ear to us, and give us His undivided attention.
As sons of The King, we know His correction, His chastisement, but also His praise of us as our Father, because He only chastises those whom He loves. And we all know how much He loves His sons. When He places His right hand upon our shoulders, we are filled with a sense of worth, a sense of approval, and His affirmation.
Jesus is The Son. We are told, time and again, to be like Him. It is impossible to please God without being a son. For it is a sure truth that when we are brought into Salvation, we are adopted as spiritual sons, and our spirits cry ‘Abba!’
Conversion is man’s word. One can convert to any religion through intellect, coercion, fear, and cultural pressure. The Internet is teeming with “preachers” and “evangelists” of false religions abounding. But true Salvation and true adoption in The Spirit is God’s and God’s alone. Big difference.
The New Covenant is an eternal salvific covenant of adoptive sonship. Seriously, how can we live without it?
I am a son. God is my Father. His Kingdom is my home. His Son is my Lord and Savior. His Spirit is my counselor, my empowerment, and He who has filled me with strength and power.
I am a son. Just like you.
