Laura May, administrator of Buckner Children and Family Services in Beaumont, and Rhonda O'Neill, development officer for Buckner in Beaumont, accept the finalist award for the 2012 Torch Awards for Marketplace Trust.
Buckner Children and Family Services of Beaumont recently was named among three non-profit finalists for the 2012 Torch Awards for Marketplace Trust by the Better Business Bureau of Southeast Texas. Buckner was one of nine local businesses and organizations recognized.
“The purpose of the Torch Awards is to recognize annually those for-profit businesses and non-profit organizations in our eight-county region committed to maintaining exceptionally high standards of ethical behavior in marketplace relationships,” said John Paschall, President/CEO of the Better Business Bureau in Southeast Texas.
Two selection teams judged entries and conducted on-site visits to select the finalists and the winners from companies and organizations that entered the competition.
“I’m so proud we were recognized, because it says a lot about our team and our employees,” said Laura May, administrator for Buckner Children and Family Services in Beaumont. “They represent the quality and high standards of Buckner, and they’re committed to great service. They do quality work, and people see that and appreciate it.”
The Better Business Bureau of Southeast Texas also produced a video featuring each finalist to be shown at the awards presentation banquet on May 8.
