One of my favorite hobbies is photography, specifically landscape photography. I have a nice camera, a Pentax K20, that I use most of the time. But occasionally, I see an opportunity for a shot and I don’t have my camera handy. Fortunately, the cameras on most mobile devices have become quite good. And with several key apps, I can capture a shot with my phone that is almost as good as one shot with my camera. Due to the overwhelmingly large am»

On my 50th birthday in flattering, low light. Many years ago, I photographed a well-known author/professor/psychiatrist. As he was finishing up a phone conversation, I set up my lights and moved a trash can from view. When he put down the receiver, he roared, “Who gave you permission to touch my things?” I stopped and stood frozen in his palatial office uncertain if he was actually asking a question or simply scolding me. Since I typically»

The Internet expansion program continues growing, with 7+ new generic top-level domains (gTLDs) becoming available every week for the public to register new domain names. The 2 most popular so far are .GURU and .PHOTOGRAPHY, with 35,000+ and 18,000+ registered domains, respectively, at the time of this blog post. I’ve found it much more understandable to see these new gTLD domain names in action, rather than merely hearing about the potential u»

For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature,  have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world,  in the things that have been made.  So they are without excuse.  Romans 1:20 ESV Not too long ago, a friend asked if I would consider teaching a class on photography. Your kind of photography, she emphasized.     I laughed. I don't know if I can, I answered. It's not that what I do is compl»

Last week I mentioned that the IMAX Jerusalem film would release soon. Turns out, it releases next month, but in very select places, primarily in museums and science centers. If you don’t see your local museum theater listed, you can ask them whether they plan to exhibit Jerusalem. Until it comes to the Dallas area, I guess I’ll continue enjoying the stunning photography in this trailer as well as in the previous one I posted.
