Marsha Johnson's Breast Cancer Treatment | Baylor Health Care System
At the age of 42, Marsha Johnson felt a small lump in her chest while on the phone. After a biopsy, doctors confirmed it was breast cancer. Baylor Medical Center at Garland, Texas, came together as one team to assist Marsha with her concerns and answer all her questions about her treatment. She underwent eight rounds of chemotherapy followed by a full mastectomy and reconstructive surgery. Marsha has since made a full recovery, and she proves it on the runway. In 2005, Marsha founded Fashions for the Cure, a breast cancer awareness fashion show for survivors, caregivers, family, friends and coworkers.
